Ziyi Yan (闫梓祎)

Ziyi Yan is a young Chinese writer living in connecticut. She is published or forthcoming in Poetry Northwest, Rust and Moth, Kissing Dynamite, Peach Mag, and others. She is an alumna of the Iowa Young Writers' Studio, Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship, Kenyon Young Writers Workshop, and Ellipsis writing workshop. Her writing has received a national gold medal and an American Voices Nomination through the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Ziyi is the winner of the Piedmont Institution Communications Contest, the Marymount Manhattan Poetry Prize, and the Lillian Butler Davies Communications Contest for poetry. She has also been recognized by The Poetry Society, Poetry Society of Virginia, the National Council of Teachers of English, Rider University, the Claudia Ann Seaman Awards, and Frontier Poetry. In 2022, she founded The Dawn Review, a literary magazine dedicated to supporting writers and artists while promoting convention-defying work. ziyi is currently trying to publish her chapbook manuscript!Email: [email protected]
